CAL POLY ANNOUNCEMENT:

You may not have had a chance to see the University News notification about traffic delays on Temple from the Edison construction project.  This came out of a meeting at the Farm Store yesterday with Pomona Engineers, Edison Public Works and various campus colleagues.  We were given very short notice about the Edison project, but we pulled a meeting together and sent out a notification on expected traffic congestion on Temple Ave for the next month.

The message sent out on University News about the  SCE Temple construction project is pasted below:

Temple Avenue Construction Causes Traffic Delays

Commuters are advised to seek alternatives to Temple Avenue for leaving campus, as ongoing utility work near the 57 freeway is having a heavy impact on local traffic.

Southern California Edison will be performing the construction work. The right-hand lane of eastbound Temple Avenue will remain closed between Pomona Boulevard and the 57 Freeway on a daily basis through Nov. 30. Work will often require a second lane to be closed as well, reducing Temple Avenue to a single lane. The lane closures have already resulted in extended delays for those traveling up the hill, away from campus. The westbound (downhill) lanes are not affected.

Alternatives may include the 71 Freeway and Humane Way to the east of campus and Grand Avenue to the west.
