Commmittees: Service Assignment

Bring $5 for adopt a family.  Money is due no later than Wednesday December 11th.

BIG IDEA:

Service for your association (class of 2014) is an important part of being democratic. As noted in my course syllabus, 10% of my course assessment is on: participation in the senior class committees, meeting all related expectations, and showing what you have learned from the experience.   This assignment is about showing what you have learned.

INSTRUCTIONS:

1.  Create a visual expressing the outcome of your experience on a 11 x 14 or something similar in size (similar to what you did at the beginning of the year with your senior project topic). What do I mean by outcome? You did something or more than one thing for your association (the class of 2014) this semester.   What did you gain from the experience?  What is different about you because of it?  Possible answers to this question will drive your decision on what artwork to do.

What do I have documented as what you did?  Click here.  If I am missing something or the information is incorrect, update me.

2.  Bring your work completed and share what you did.  Share what you did and why in the presentation.

3.  Poster is due.  The short presentation is on the same day.
  • West and East      Tuesday, December 10
  • North and South  Friday, December 13
*Note: I am also going to ask you to leave your Social Science Notebook on this day too.

ROLES:  It is an individual assignment.

RULE OF THREE:
  • Completed visual
  • Shared out explaining what you did and why
  • Outcome shows thought and connections to what you did
QUESTIONS:  Common Questions

1. Should it be drawn?

Yes.  It is just like the senior project poster.   There was for example one where it was drawn then the person typed out words and put the words with an intent in the drawing.  That was fine.   The basis of it needs to be your art work.

2.  Where will it be displayed?

You will share what you did with your peers and then it will be posted on your house teacher wall.
