Running in Place Exam

How can Roger help his brother Holden understand basic economics?  We are doing this currently by having one of four Economist (Hayek, Keynes, Marx, and Smith).     The next step (but not the final step) is for you to play the role of Holden and show understanding by taking a short exam on basic economics.    What should you study?   Your notebook.

1.  Scarcity:  Be able to explain it with examples.
2.  Identify the factors of production with examples.
3.  Be able to explain the circular flow of economics
4.  Can explain the PPF Khan Academy video.
5.  Be able to identify what is capitalism and socialism and how they are different.
6.  Can identify ideas related to your assigned economist in the mock interview (you won't need to know the other three economist)
7.  Watched the film and understand what Americans have done since the late 1970s because pay has stagnated.
8.  Can identify the difference between the types of businesses with examples.
9.  Know the ER guide and examples.
10. Can explain the Deficit vs. Debt Khan Academy video.

When is the short exam?

  • South and West:  Tuesday 2/11
  • East and North:  Wednesday 2/12
How will this day look
  • 10 minutes to review in partners
  • 50 minutes to take the test individually (please write on a separate piece of paper and staple your exam handout to the paper and turn it in)
  • 26 minutes to watch mock interviews
What is the final step?
  • Thursday 2/13 is a 4-block.   We will be connecting the Running in Place PBL back to my course EQ by debriefing it.   This is also an important assessment.

iPoly Alma Mater

Here at International Polytechnic High,

we’ve set our goals reach-able, yet higher than the sky.

as we all now the future is in our hands

the most successful people are the ones in these stands

We’re proud to be Broncos, let the truth be told;

the colors that we bleed are that great green & gold,

I-Poly is the school that we all love so dear

won’t forget the times we shared each passing year.

Faced with diversity, we created unity

Helping us make ---the “I-Poly Family”

But when it’s for all of us to go our separate ways,

We will all look back and say, “I l miss those I-Poly days!”
