Research Check 1 Instructions

On Friday, you will need to:

1.  Have your WB up on your blog and filled out with your 3 sources by 8AM.

Need to see examples.
  •  See the right hand side of the page (click here)
  •  See the right hand side of the page (click here)
If you are bringing a book, one chapter equals one article.  Look at Natasha's (click here).  Notice in column 14, 15, and 16, she did a research check on 10/5  using one book.  She labeled it 13a, 13b and 13c in the source ID.   So if you are going to bring a book for the first research check, it would be 1a, 1b, and 1c. If you are not, then you would have 3 articles, so it would be 1, 2, and 3.

*Please note that you will see a summary column on the 2013 example.  We deleted this category for 2014.   You will be doing the summary when you do cornell notes.
*You must share your WB in your google docs by sharing it with anybody who has the link.

2.  Bring 3 articles or a book.  1 of the 3 articles can be an encyclopedia.  But you can't bring an encyclopedia article in any future research check.

3.  Bring your notebook.

In class, you will be reading the 3 articles or 3 chapters in the book and taking notes using the cornell notes strategy.  1 page of cornell notes for each article or chapter in the book.  You will be required to work for one hour and half on your work.
